Annual Membership Meeting – 2015
The HRASS annual membership meeting was held at the Town Haul Diner in Harrison, Montana on January 30, 2015, with 12 long time members present. HRASS Chairman Dick DeBernardis opened the meeting at 9:00 am.
Treasurers Report – the Treasures report was presented by John Bankroft.
2014 Expenses reported:
Toilets $600.00
Property Lease: $750.00
Insurance: $698.90
2015 Dues: It was unanimously approved that the 2014 HRASS annual dues would remain at $20.00 per individual and $30.00 per family.
Shooting Competition Fees: A proposal was made that HRASS charge an additional $5.00 for any HRASS shooter that is not a member of HRASS. This motion was unanimously passed.
Reloading components: The Chairman reminded all in attendance that he had access to all reloading components (bullet’s, powder, primers, and bullet cases) and that he could provide them to all HRASS shooters for considerably less cost than any retail outlet.
Scenario’s for 2015: Patterson has volunteered to write them again this year. Also discussed was the inclusion of The Texas Star and the Bottles props. Patterson agreed to include them in some shoots.
Portable Toilets: John Bankroft suggested that because we do not have a large crowd of shooters at the HNRASS shoots anymore he volunteered to contact the Toilet provider to see if we only contract for one this year would they agree to only charging us $300 to $400.00. Christensen commented that we already get two toilets for the price of one. John agreed to look into the matter and notify the Chairman of his findings.
Annual Stage Repair: It was unanimously agreed that we would meet on March 21 at 10:00 am at the Bloated Carcass range to make any repairs necessary to the stages and or site. All attending were encouraged to bring power tools, screws, nails and wood boards, etc. If we can’t work on the 21st, we will meet the following Saturday, March 28. Spraying the range for weeds was discussed and John Bancroft will provide the sprayer and the Chairman will provide all the chemicals. Also discussed was installing a fence to keep the animals off our shooting range. Rough Rider volunteered to look into this action. The installation of the Flag Pole was also discussed.
Bloated Carcass Shooting Range: Certificate of Liability: The subject of the Concealed Weapons Instructor that was useing our shooting range as part of his training program was discussed. He no longer is using the range. The final decision made by the Chairman was that we contact the NRA and ask them to provide our club and the land owner with a copy of the NRA “Certificate of Liability” which shows that it indemnifies HRASS and the owner from any claims. The Chairman also commented that SASS clubs in Montana are looking into one insurance policy that would include every SASS Club in Montana is being looked into..
Shoot Information: All attendees agreed that each shoot will begin at 9:30 am with a safety discussion and ending with the salute to the American Flag. Also agreed to was that the July shoot will include a Pot Luck dinner, with the club providing Hamburgers. Also, the 4th of July Shoot will be held on Sunday, July 5th this year.All members were asked to bring salads, desserts, chips, etc.
Post Cards: The subject of sending out a postcard to all active HRASS members that would indicate the days of our 2015 shoots was discussed and approved.
ROI and RO2 Classes: Carl Bartman reminded the attendees that RO1 AND RO2 active members should have an update class to discuss any new rules change. Carl also mentioned that anyone can go on the SASS net website and down load the new 2015 Shooters Manual, and the RO1 and RO2 updates.
SASS New Rules: Long guns will be cleared and discarded with barrels pointing safely downrange. If the action of a long gun closes after being cleared then the competitor will, at the conclusion of the stage, show it to be clear to the TO. No person other than the competitor may handle the long gun prior to opening the action and showing the long gun to be clear. Appropriate penalties will apply if the long gun is not clear.
Tannerite Targets: All in attendance were reminded that absolutely no Tamerite Targets will be permitted to be used at the Bloated Carcass Shooting Range.
SASS State Shooting Club Schedules: The Chairman commented that anyone wanting to know various Montana SASS shooting schedules can access them by going to The Gallatin Valley Regulators site.
